Go to the wichita SCCA website to register, then show up. Usually a good idea to bring sunscreen and something to eat for lunch. They have plenty of helmets for you to rent.

Ok, I didn't really understand the drive heat and work heat things, but I registered the Honda. My tires are pretty near balding, but otherwise I think I should be good.

There's multiple 'heats' of cars that go out on the track. The last two I've done we've only had 2 heats. You drive in one heat and work in the other. Work is standing on course and watching cones, calling it in when they get knocked over and fixing them when they do.
